Quick Like a Bunny (Sherlock/Queer Eye for the Straight Guy) (PG-13, gen)
ace, that coat, straight out of a romance, lithe, sherlock

Hi, everybody!

The idea for this story popped into my head as I was finishing up my Irene Adler fic, but I didn't think I'd really write it. Two days later, I had it drafted. Big thanks to my lovely betas, octette and kate_lear, for willingly wading into this insanity. Thanks also to endgame, whose post on the flat's layout proved tremendously helpful.

It's rated PG-13 for language, and it's gen, despite the machinations of Mrs. Hudson - Sherlock is asexual, John is straight. But it's still a love story.

As always, I'd love to hear what you think.

Oh my goodness, this was... my heart is so full I can't find words! I've come across enough 'use the 5 guys to mess with someone's life' fic that I was a little cautious about reading, but your use of the idea was sweet and gentle and utterly charming.
I loved that you didn't keep the cow skull, or the couch, but the TABLE, which is so much about the two men together, rather than where they might usually up of a day. So sweet!
And the food! And the clothes! And Sherlock being so frank about elbows and penises... *laughs*
Seriously, amazing stuff, this. I adored it, and I'm so glad you posted it for everyone to read! Thanks a bunch for a great read.

This is such lovely feedback - thank you! And yes, the table is where they sit as equals, so that's what had to stay. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this!

Love it! Absolutely!

This one was so much fun to write, thanks!

This isn't the first time I've read this story, but it was recently brought to my attention again and I enjoyed it just as much the second time around.

I was very surprised that most of the early comments seemed to characterise this as friendship fic. It seemed to me to be love, just unconventionally expressed. Ah well, YMMV.

Thank you! Would you mind telling me how it popped up again for you?

I think it is a love story and a friendship fic at once - my idea throughout the series this is part of is that John and Sherlock love each other, but while that is enough for Sherlock, John is still searching for a lover while he keeps Sherlock as his best friend. It's causing some friction, now that I'm writing the end of the series.

That was really quite delightful. The mysterious and misleading dinner, tempting Sherlock to eat! And I love Sherlock's assumption that John will support his j'accuse of Jai being 'not good' for failing to accept Sherlock's asexuality.

Ha, calling it his j'accuse moment creates such a delightful image in my mind! I'm so pleased you enjoyed this!

Very cool friendship fic. I confess that I didn't notice/read your introduction earlier, so I didn't realize it wasn't the usual romance story until Sherlock browbeat them about sexuality. It was refreshing to see your chosen ending.

I am so pleased you enjoyed it, and that you found it to be a romantic friendship story, which is what I was going for.

I am semi new to the Sherlock fandom so I just stumbled onto this rec. Soooooo glad. This gave me warm fuzzies. Thank you for writing it! ❤️

Awww, your kind feedback gave me warm fuzzies! Glad you enjoyed this!
