Writing and a little pick-me-up
the boys are beautiful

Hi, everybody!

I figured some stuff out with my lovely Sweet Charity writers this weekend, and we are all in for some gorgeous, dense pieces of fic, courtesy of dark_roast and quellefromage! Whoot!

I've been working on my spn_j2_bigbang fic, and I'm loving it. I think NaNo was a really bad experience for me, since I was producing so much but was happy with only a miniscule percentage of it. And the necessity of writing every day pushed that story into quite a strange shape - the Sam/Sarah bits wouldn't have gone on for nearly as long if I'd been confident I knew how to push the rest of the story ahead. Anyway, the bigbang story marks the first time since then that I've been really pleased with something I'm writing, and I have really missed that lovely feeling. Ahhhhhhhhh.

I still need to revise that sprawling mess that is my NaNo draft, because I do think there's an interesting story buried somewhere in there.

Also, I need to stop punking out and just write scene eleven of my Ben/Dean series. However, I think that can wait a little while I'm still feeling all yay! about bigbang. And I've had an idea for a (hopefully) funny pre-series fic that I think should be fun to write. It's so nice to be back in the swing of things.

I hope you all are doing well too.

And lastly, I just wanted to mention this: The Valentine's Day Game, hosted by the marvelous svmadelyn. Go! Say the nice things you've been meaning to say!

I'm totally a bad enabler. BEN/DEAN, woman!

Ha! No, you pumped me up for "Generation," dude!

(Also, I have been trying to write scene eleven for weeks, but nothing's coming. V frustrating.)

Ha. I totally did. It's why I'm a bad enabler. Ok. WRITE GENERATION.

AND VOTE.

DO BOTH.

NY votes today, y/n?

AM WRITING, PROMISE.

NY did vote yesterday, without me, due to too many stupid circumstances to enumerate.

I've signed up for big bang! And the story is just a huge whirl of images and thoughts in my head right now, scenes like little tips of mountains above the clouds, as you'd see from a plane. I have so much respect for you doing your Nano, because that was (despite how you might feel about it) a really compelling story, and there is seriously NO WAY in HELL that I could do that. Ever ever. I've got a fragment here and a fragment there, and I still have no clue if it's going to come together, but it's fun for me that way. I don't think I could ever write something sequentially, it's just not how my brain works at all. But I like that sense of potential when it's all below the clouds still. Hmmmm we'll see.

And... I can't wait til June to read yours. I mean, I probably can. But if you want an extra random test reader at any time. *looks shifty*

PS.
Ben and Dean rule the world. When you're ready, naturally.

Aw, you're sweet! I just really am surprised by how unhappy that whole experience made me - no one was forcing me, I wasn't really trying to hit 50,000 words anyway, etc., so what was my problem? I'm chalking it up to not being satisfied with the writing and also going completely contrary to my usual writing style, which is to edit as I go, compulsively, over and over until I think it's as close to right as I'm going to get it.

I might take you up on that! I'm forcing poor, defenseless janissa11 to beta it for me, and girl_wonder has jumped on the chopping block of her own free will, as you can see by the above, but I might need someone who hasn't had to hear me moan and whine about each word of the story to read it and make sure it makes any damn sense, you know? Thank you! And of course you know I'll do the same for you. *not shifty, totally shameless*

Ben and Dean rule the world. Hee! And they do it sexily, right? Dean insists that this is so.

I figured some stuff out with my lovely Sweet Charity writers this weekend, and we are all in for some gorgeous, dense pieces of fic, courtesy of dark_roast and quellefromage! Whoot!

Am I the gorgeous one, or the dense one? No, wait! Don't answer that. :D

Is it okay if I post in my LJ about what we discussed, or would you prefer to keep it a surprise? Thanks again for winning me, and I hope I don't disappoint. I haven't started writing yet. I'm a little nervous, this being my first time as a Charity Ho. Eep!

You are gorgeously dense if you don't know how I feel about your writing!

I'm totally cool with you posting whatever you want in your lj, but I'm not sure what the Sweet Charity rules are - I know I got emails saying that once the fic was written, if I were willing to share what I got, I had to enter a code into the site. So I don't know if there's something in the rules that keeps you from spilling the beans. But whatever you want to do is fine with me. I'm just happy you're writing me DEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAN! (Or have I said too much?)

You are gorgeously dense

Oh crap. You're someone who actually knows me IRL, aren't you? D:
(That horrified emoticon never, ever fails to make me laugh...)

Seriously... yes, I do know how you feel about my writing, but I am still so incredibly flattered that you bid on me, and that you're so excited about the story. Gleeee!

The Sweet Charity FAQ doesn't say one way or another re: talking about goodies -- but I think I will err on the side of caution and keep your request supah-seekrit until I'm done.

I'm just happy you're writing me DEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAN! (Or have I said too much?)

Well, you've probably disappointed my 1 or 2 fans who were hoping for a Logan fic. =D

I wish I knew you in real life! And I'd also love to read your novel, if you ever feel like sharing, etc.

Go write!

Did you see the promo for next week's episode? :-/

I did! And I thought of you! But the thing is, I still want to see your story - and if it's the other boy looping . . .

That's true! It's Sam, not Dean. Plus, it looks like a totally different premise.

It's my own fault, really. I've been praying to the SPN gods since S1 for a time-loop story. (I'm so terrible -- in the promo, Dean getting nailed by that falling safe[?] is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I cannot wait for next week.)

The promo is hilarious and heartbreaking - all in about ten seconds!

I'm sure you can manage both in a nice, long, plotty fic - whoot! Go write!

I am glad you are pleased with what you are writing, hurrah! I look forward to seeing it. Hope you've had a good week.

Thanks! It has not been an especially nice week, but at least I'm thinking about ways to improve that. I hope you've been well too.

I'm sorry it's not been good! Hope you can improve it, I wish you luck with that.

Changing jobs would go a long way toward improving my life. We'll see.

Oh hon when work is bad that is difficult - cause it takes up so much of our time. I wish you hunt in your job search. Are you looking for something similar to what you do now? Good luck anyways, keep us posted!
